.......and so it says on the lid of
"The Magic Spool" set!
The Magic Spool - T. Buettner & Co. Inc. Chicago -
U.S.A. - copyright 1941
T. Buettner & Co. was an art needlework supply
company in Chicago. The earliest catalog
that I have found from this company is dated 1906.
If any reader has any information on T. Buettner
& Co. Inc., I would love to hear from you, thankyou!
Below is the box lid.
The instructions found in the box.
(I have two of these sets and the other
set was missing this sheet.)
Inside the two sets (side by side) - as found, with the
original spool knitters and others
added.
The red wooden spool knitter measures 3 1/2 inches or 9 cms.

Not sure about spool knitters -- but for the name T. Buettner & Co., Inc, Chicago -- I have a "Nun's Crochet & Embroidery Instruction Book" (2nd Edition - copyright 1930) by them, as well as a color chart for "Nun's Boilproof Six-strand Filotwist thread" that was put out by that company, if anyone has an interest.
Thanks moi711! ...clearly Buettner was a large company dealing with all manner of art needlework and for many years too. Possibly in competition with Herrschner and similar companies.
I have tread from Nun's dated 1923
That's great r.caranci! .... it is a great help to have the date. Cheers!
